RFD868x
The RFD868x is part of our best-selling x series of data modems; a high performance 868MHz ISM band radio modem covering the 865-870MHz frequency band.
Designed for long range data communication applications which require best-in-class radio link performance. The RFD900x radio modem - designed, tested and inspected in Australia. NDAA compliant.
Geographic versions compliant with Australian, New Zealand and United States of America standards are available.
Models:
| Modem Model | Maximum Transmit Power(dBm) | Frequency Band/s (MHZ) | Number of Channels | Max Duty Cycle (%) |
| 868x | 30 | 868-870 | 1 | 100 |
| 868x-EU (Europe) | 27/7 | 869.7-870 | 1 | 10/100 |
Please note: The EU certified version of the 868 modems have limited operation modes, a low power (5mW) full duty cycle mode, and a high power (500mW) low duty cycle mode. The high power mode will significantly reduce data throughput due to the duty cycle restrictions. These conditions are a requirement of compliance with EU regulations and CANNOT be altered.
Key Features
- Long-range data link capable of transmitting more than 40km depending on parameter settings and antennas.
- Compatible with the MavLink environment.
- Maximum Air data rate: 224kbit/s.
- AES Hardware accelerated encryption.
- Optional RC PPM or SBUS Passthrough. (SiK firmware)
- GPIO Pin Mirroring capability. (SiK firmware)
- RF front-end filtering.
- ESD-protected and filtered IO pins.
- Firmware options available to achieve several network topologies including point-to-point SiK and Asynchronous mesh.
- User updateable firmware and parameters
- License-free use in European Union. (Depending on regional variants)
- Compatibility with ux series modems.
Note:
- The ux and x series modems are not compatible with older "a" or “+” series modems .
Compliance:
- Regional version modems are compliant with regional regulation
- NDAA compliant
The RFD868ux-EU is compliant with the following standards:
- EN300 220 V3.1.1
- EN301 489-3 V2.1.1
- IEC 62368-1:2014
Note:
- Regionally locked version of the modems may restrict or limit the performance and available parameter settings compared to the unlocked modems.
- Ultimately it is up to the user to identify the radio frequency regulation applicable to their areas of operation and ensure their modems parameters are set correctly.
